Auckland

The community gathers at their centre in Henderson, West Auckland for prayers, gatherings and other community programs. This site is also planned to become the future location of a Dawoodi Bohra masjid, designed in line with Fatimi principles and architectural traditions.

Community members live across Auckland and actively participate in city-wide events, civic initiatives, and public engagements.

Dawoodi Bohra families first settled in Auckland around five decades ago. Growth increased notably after 1986, leading to the establishment of a community centre in Auckland. Over time, the community has evolved beyond congregational activities to include educational, charitable, and environmental initiatives, strengthening both internal bonds and external engagement.

Service and sustainability are central to community life. Through Project Rise, volunteers participate in environmental and social initiatives such as beach clean-ups, tree plantation drives, and food donation programs, often in collaboration with local councils and civic bodies.

The community also takes part in public festivals and inter-community engagements, fostering dialogue and mutual respect.

Today, the Dawoodi Bohra community of Auckland maintains a distinct and positive presence—rooted in tradition, engaged with society, and committed to contributing constructively to the cultural, social, and environmental life of the city.
