Adelaide

Community members live across Adelaide, and host events collaboratively in shared community spaces. Over the past six years, a warm interfaith relationship has been built with the Morialta Uniting Church, whose facilities are regularly used for gatherings and cultural programs—strengthening ties of mutual respect and understanding.

Dawoodi Bohra students first arrived in Adelaide in the late 1980s, drawn by the city’s reputable educational institutions, lifestyle, and multicultural ethos.
The first family settled permanently in 1999, laying the foundation for a growing presence. By 2007, the Dawoodi Bohra community of Adelaide was formally established, supported by the city’s welcoming environment and opportunities.

Since then, the community has gone from strength to strength. Members remain dedicated to upholding Bohra values while contributing positively to Adelaide’s civic, cultural, and social landscape. Though smaller in size than other cities, the Dawoodi Bohras of Adelaide maintain a distinct and active presence. 

Environmental sustainability and service remain important to our community  Over the years, our volunteers have participated in various initiatives, including tree plantation drives to keep Adelaide green. We also are regular contributors to food programs, including OzHarvest and Food Bank SA, as an effort to   support our neighbors in  Adelaide society.
