Cancer Council Morning Tea

The Melbourne community organised the event under the banner of Project Rise

For the second year in a row, the Dawoodi Bohras of Melbourne  hosted the Cancer Council Victoria’s fundraiser better known as ‘Australia’ s Biggest Morning Tea’ on 29th May 2022. The event was a success and attendance far surpassed initial estimates.

Research says that one in two Australians are diagnosed with Cancer before the age of 85. The funds raised by the event will help those living with cancer access better treatment and care facilities. Cancer Council supports cancer patients by raising awareness, empowering people to reduce their cancer risk and finding new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

‘It was an eventful and enjoyable morning with laughter, games and of course scrumptious morning tea – all made more worthwhile with the knowledge of supporting a noble cause. A big thank you to all those who showed up and contributed,’ said a community volunteer.

The Melbourne community organised the event under the banner of Project Rise – the Dawoodi Bohra community’s global philanthropic arm that mobilises volunteers across the globe to make a positive impact on the societies they live in.
